An oil spill can be anything from an overfilled domestic oil tank impacting on a small area, a major tanker incident affecting land and waterways, or a spill on the sea. They all have the potential for major environmental impact and are all subject to government legislation regarding responsibility for spill clearance.
If a spill occurs, step one is to deal with the cause of the spill (where possible), step two to alert the emergency services (if necessary), and or the Regulators, and step three contact (as soon as possible) an Accredited Contractor who is the key to damage limitation.

When time allows you should complete and submit a spill report on this website.
